About the Doctor

Phil Grieshaber, MD

Yellow stethoscope and medicine on a colorful background

I’m Dr. Phil Grieshaber, a physician and two-time cancer survivor practicing in the Lehigh Valley. I graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 2009, then trained in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital until 2013. I later studied diseases of the lungs and chest cavity at the University of Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital.

In 2007, while still in medical school, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I was successfully treated and resumed my training. In 2010 I was diagnosed with a rare skin cancer, Papillary Sweat Gland Carcinoma, and was again treated successfully.

In 2013 I developed problems with thyroid hormone replacement therapy. I grew more ill and less capable of performing my job duties, resulting in my resignation from fellowship training. I was later granted Social Security Disability.

In the interim, I was hired by Dr. Ali Rifai at Blue Mountain Psychiatry in Easton, PA. Over more than six years I became practiced in treating addiction, substance dependence and associated psychiatric conditions. While I am not a psychiatrist, my interest and experience now lie in the world of Psychiatry.
